AEK AND ASTERAS TRIPOLIS SHOW RACISM THE RED CARD

Opponents on the pitch, but partners in the fight for respect, equality and diversity. Last weekendAEK Athens FC and Asteras Tripolis FC showed racism the red card before the kick-off of their game. The game between the Greek clubs that play in the Super League Interwetten ended in a 2-2 draw.

Both teams took a stand against racism by joining our European-wide anti-racism campaign. The awareness-raising campaign, or the Red Card campaign, consists of disseminating our Red Cards in 27 languages to professional and grassroots clubs all over Europe. By taking pictures and videos of players with the Red Card, clubs take a stand against racism. The cards are free to download from our website. Currently, with AEK FC and Asteras Tripolis FC as the newest partners, there are more than 50 clubs, both professional and grassroots, participating in the campaign.

#Morethanfootball Action Weeks

Every year, both Asteras Tripolis FC and AEK FC participate in the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks, the global campaign for the European Football community to showcase the impact of their community and social responsibility activities and programmes. Both clubs are participating in the upcoming #Morethanfootball Action Weeks (22.03. – 18.04.2021). Participants can raise money for their social projects through a professional fundraiser. Clubs, leagues and FAs can register here.
