Ajax – De Graafschap = Charity Matchday!

Ajax will play its last home game of 2018 against De Graafschap on Sunday, December 16. This game is the Charity Matchday, as money will be collected for the Ajax Foundation. One of the many activities is that the youth players of Ajax make their season ticket available to children who grow up in poverty that day so that they also have the opportunity to experience a match in the Johan Cruijff Arena.

During the Charity Matchday, supporters in and around the stadium can donate money to the Ajax Foundation. No matter how small, every contribution helps. The money is used to support children who grow up in poverty and offer them an Ajax experience.

‘Wonderful to see your heroes up close’

“A great initiative”, says John Heitinga, ambassador of the Ajax Foundation. “Sports is so important for children: exercise, having fun and of course the social part of the game. But sports also costs money, so I’m glad that we as Ajax in that area can contribute a bit. “Heitinga also likes that the youth players of Ajax give up their seats on December 16th. “It is wonderful that children, who struggle in life can also see their heroes up close. It’s important to give back to the community, especially during the holiday season.”
