Ajax Youth on shot for Charity

The Ajax youth teams are engaged in a fierce battle to score as much as possible, not just for themselves, but for others. With every goal they score, they earn money to buy presents for sick children and to fund the building of an Ajax Playground in the Emma Hospital in Amsterdam.

The idea for this initiative came from the players themselves with the captain of Ajax O11, Levi Acheampong the initiator and he is happy to help children for whom everything is not so easy “Not all children are lucky that they can play football carefree. We want to mean something for that. ”

Every goal contributes to a gift for a sick child. ABN AMRO, the social partner of the Ajax Foundation sponsors the number of presents for the children on the basis of the goal balance. Goals scored in the period from 9 March to the end of May are included in the initiative.

After 2 weeks, half of the final target has already been achieved with the teams having scored the following number of goals:

Under 8:  26 goals
Under 9: 59 goals
Under 10: 62 goals
Under 11: 55 goals
Under 12: 49 goals
