Apollon at Childrens Treatment Centre

Apollon Limassol first team players visited the Cyprus Red Cross Children’s Treatment Center in Limassol on the morning of Wednesday, April 24 to celebrate Easter.

First team players, Petros Pshisas, Hector Yuste, Emilio Zelaya, Andre Schembri and Mustapha Carayol distributed Apollon memorabilia provided by the Official Club Store.

The clubs sponsor Stoixman were also in attendance with Mr Kountoulides, from the company stating for his part: “Corporate Social Responsibility events are in Stoiximan’s DNA and are an integral part of any sports sponsorship. Besides, the fact that Apollo is a group with a strong presence and sensitivity to social actions played an important role in our decision to stand by the side of the group. Our goal in the future is to support even more actions for the real “Heroes of Life”. ”

The only one of its kind “The Children’s Treatment Center”

The Children’s Treatment Center KES Stella Soulioti (formerly Child’s Innocence) was founded by the Cyprus Red Cross in 1957 with the aim of providing specialist care for sick and disabled children. After various temporary housing arrangements, it finally operated in a privately-owned building in Kyrenia, with staff and children coming from all across Cyprus.

The Center, which is unique in Cyprus, treats over 100 children aged up to 22 years with severe physical and multiple disabilities such as cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, various syndromes and other serious developmental problems. In addition to medical and nursing education, children are offered physiotherapy, hydrotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and special aids are provided to help them move more comfortably. Particular attention is paid to ensure the children are kept entertained and that a family atmosphere is maintained, on their integration into society and more generally, the provision of a better quality of life. The services offered at the Center are continually upgraded. General medical care has a Special Paediatrician, which works closely with the Ministry of Health and foreign specialists. The dedicated specialised therapeutic staff and the ever-increasing and ever-expanding equipment contribute to the provision of specialized medical and therapeutic services of a high standard.
