Apollon Limassol is a New Member of the Network

The European Football for Development Network is pleased to announce that Apollon Limassol has joined the network.

Apollon Limassol is a Cypriot sports club, based in Limassol. Founded in 1954, Apollon FC currently plays in Cypriot First Division and has won the championship title 3 times, the cup 8 times and the Super Cup twice.

What about Apollon Limassol’s CSR strategy?

Apollon Limassol was founded in year 1954 in order to adhere the ideals of freedom. Further to the sports presence of the team, Apollon Limassol gives great importance in the promotion of messages with social content. Taking into consideration the character of sports and especially of football as a social phenomenon that attracts all social groups, the promotion and concentration on problems that the society faces nowadays.

For ten years now Apollon Limassol is a leading team in community involvement and anti-racism campaign and is planning to expand the social impact in the coming years. The club was awarded by UEFA for the rich social work they have done, and especially for the anti-violence and anti-racism campaigns.

Apollon Limassol anti-racism campaign consists out of:

  • Informative visits to schools, with presentations and distribution of printed material
  • Campaigns and messages on the stadium through the team, the academy kids and our kid escorts
  • Advertisements and announcements on all our official communications, as well as our website, photos, posters, leaflets, Christmas and other post cards, pennants and many more
