Aston Villa – Supporting Our Own Initiative

As part of the Aston Villa Football Club ‘Supporting Our Own’ initiative, the Aston Villa Foundation are seeking nominations for ‘Community Most Valuable Players’.
The Community MVP programme offers you the chance to nominate your community champions – the unsung heroes from all walks of life who make a positive contribution to their local community and inspire others.
These may be sports volunteers, youth workers, ambassadors, fundraisers, carers – the people who work tirelessly for the benefit of others, or people who battle difficult personal circumstances selflessly and without complaint.

Nominate your community champions

There are no set categories, just special people of any age who you think deserve a special recognition.
Winners of the Aston Villa Community MVP scheme will be invited to attend the Aston Villa versus Burton Albion match on Saturday 3rd February in the hospitality lounges, as guests of official Aston Villa Football Club partner of Hisense and the Aston Villa Foundation. They will also be presented with a trophy at the side of  the pitch during the build up to the game. Winners will also be put forward at the forthcoming Pride of Birmingham Awards, which take place later in the year. To watch a short video about the Community MVP scheme and to hear what being recognised meant to Pride of Britain award winner Moin Younis.

Inspirational for others and making a positive contribution to the community

Nominees for the Community MVP scheme do not need to be Aston Villa supporters – they can be of any age, with the only criteria being that they are inspirational for others and come from Birmingham and surrounding areas.
You can nominate your Community MVP by emailing foundation@avfc.co.uk
Please include your name and contact details and those of the person you are nominating. Please also provide as much information as you can about why you think this person should be recognised as a Community ‘Most Valuable Player’.
Closing date for applications is Friday 19th January at 5pm.
