Benfica Foundation fulfilled Jeremie’s dream at Estádio da Luz

18 years old Jérémie from France suffers from Friedreich’s Ataxia, a neurological disease, he is a real Benfica fan and the son of Portuguese immigrants. That is also where his passion for the Portugese club comes from.

Last week, Jérémie flew to Lisbon to spend the weekend at Benfica. There he did not only visit the “Museu Benfica – Cosme Damião” and the football club’s stadium, but also had the chance to see the team bus arrive. A real pre-game atmosphere for the boy from France, who used to play football himself, until he was diagnosed with the neurological disease.

Of course, he was in the stands to see the game against Estoril, suffered until the final whistle and was really happy with the win, which allows the Eagles to keep remaining leader of the Portuguese championship.

Jérémie assumed that the highlight of the weekend would be watching the match, but he was mistaken.

After the game, he was able to meet his idols, the football players of Benfica. Through the work of the Fundação Benfica (Benfica Foundation), Jérémie got the unique opportunity to talk to André Horta, his favorite player. Also, he met many other players and Benfica’s head coach, Rui Vitoria.

It was an emotional weekend for the Jérémie, who laughed and talked a lot, although he was a bit shy.
