Big Dunc To Coach Youngsters For Charity

Blues legend and current first-team coach Duncan Ferguson is offering his coaching skills to youngsters at an upcoming charitable ‘Soccer Clinic’.

The Everton Giant, who made 239 appearances for the Club before taking up a role in the backroom staff, will be coaching children in aid of Mane Chance Sanctuary.

Open to footballers of all abilities aged between 9 and 14

The session is open to footballers of all abilities aged between nine and 14 and will take place on Saturday 24 June at JMO Sports Park, Skelmersdale.

All proceeds will go towards Mane Chance Sanctuary, which offers relief for children and vulnerable people through therapeutic equine work, as well as working to alleviate the suffering of animals.

Ferguson, who will be leading the clinic with support from Everton in the Community (EitC) coaches, said: “Mane Chance Sanctuary has been running Soccer Clinics around the country for a couple of years and I’m delighted to be able to support them as they visit the North West.

“Mane Chance Sanctuary is unique in the way that it supports both animals and people, so hopefully lots of young footballers will sign up and help the charity impact more lives than ever before.

“EitC delivers an extremely high standard of football coaching 12 months of the year and I’m sure that, together, we can put on a fun and engaging session for everyone who attends.”

Coaching from Ferguson and the EitC team

The charity’s ‘Soccer Clinic’ will be grouped into three sessions for 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14 year-olds, each lasting two hours.

Places are limited, meaning that for £30 your child will receive impactful coaching from Ferguson and the EitC team, as well as receiving a free football.

Jenny Seagrove, founder of Mane Chance Sanctuary said; “To have Duncan Ferguson, an Everton FC icon, legend and first-team coach lead our Soccer Clinic is totally amazing. He is an inspiration to us all and I am so grateful to him for giving his time to Mane Chance and the children and horses we help.”

Entries for the Soccer Clinic close on Wednesday 14 June. Register online at www.manechancesanctuary.org/soccer17 or email soccer@manechancesanctuary.org.
