BURNLEY FC IN THE COMMUNITY AWARDED GRANT TO SUPPORT VETERANS

Burnley FC in the Community has been awarded a significant grant from the Veterans Foundation which allows the club foundation to continue playing its part in sustaining the Veterans Programme. The Veterans Foundation provides funds to organisations that directly help members of the UK armed forces and their immediate dependents, who are in need.

In order to support the veteran community at large within the Burnley and East Lancashire area, BFCitC conducts regular meet-up sessions, social opportunities events and organised activities. Trips are also held to breakfast clubs, health workshops, outdoor activities, and museums. During these sessions, veterans have the chance to engage with fellow members of the community who have served the nation.

The main aim of this initiative is to improve the overall health, both mental and physical, of these experienced workforces. So far, BFCitC has reportedly engaged with over 150 local military veterans.

One can go through an infographic here that details the work BFCitC has been doing with the Veterans Programme.
