Burnley FC joins EFDN

EFDN is proud to welcome Burnley FC and the club’s charity Burnley FC in the Community in the European Football for Development Network.

Burnley FC in the Community is a self-financing registered charity with a mission to support communities, inspire communities and deliver change in communities. This is achieved through the delivery of three community objectives:

  1. To provide tangible community outcomes across our key themes of work including sports participation, education, health, social inclusion and community facilities.
  2. To be a self-financing, viable charity embedded within the ethos of the football club.
  3. To work with individuals and organisations to establish strong partnerships which helps us develop and deliver worthwhile and beneficial community projects.

Five key areas

The work of Burnley in the Community is channelled into five key areas: sport, education, health, social inclusion and community facilities. The highly-skilled, dynamic and passionate team now deliver over 40 community projects that touch the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Burnley. From children and young people right through to senior citizens. Though the charity is embedded within the ethos of Burnley FC, it is financially independent from the football club. Burnley in the Community relies on fundraising activities, donations, sponsorships and grants to do the work it does and every penny it raises goes to developing new opportunities for those who need it most. During the 2017/18 financial year, our turnover was around £2.6m with a projected turnover of £3.8m for 2018/19.

You can find more information about Burnley FC in the Community and their programmes on their member page.
