CLUB STAGE DOWNS SYNDROME FESTIVAL – Northampton Town

Northampton Town hosted a mini Downs syndrome festival at the Goals Centre in Northampton on Sunday 15th April. Joining the Cobblers in taking part were their friends from Swindon Town and Lincoln City.

The matches were six a side with each team playing each other twice. All of the matches were played in a great spirit with special mention to all the goalkeepers who made some fantastic saves. Lincoln came top of the table, followed by the Cobblers and then Swindon.

Social Inclusion & Disability is one of the club‘s key focus areas:

The work covers a wide range of physical and mental disability including: working with sight impairment, autism and learning difficulties, Downs Syndrome and much more. We also run a structured disability player development and talent identification programme and run the Northampton Town Multi-Disabled Football Club.
