Football as an educational and peace-building tool

Mifalot Education and Society Enterprises is working towards creating a better future for the people in the Middle East by using sports as an educational and peace-building tool. With its vision, Mifalot Education and Society Enterprises collaborated with the Israeli Ministry of Regional Cooperation and “Streetfootballworld” Network in order to execute the “Neighbours United” seminar on the Jordanian shore of the Dead Sea. During this 4-day seminar, the 40 educators and coaches discussed many different topics, such as: usage of sport as an educational tool, outdoor training methods, conflict resolution on and off the field, leadership qualities and more. The attendees participated in more than 30 workshops, lectures, round-table and recreation activities – all addressing one goal: experiencing sports efficiency in promoting dialogue between individuals and communities. Overall, the seminar was regarded as a success. Israeli, Egyptian and Palestinian participants played in the same team and young women from Turkey, Syria and Iraq discussed ways to empower women.
