EFDN and Awabot held Florence Programme Webinar

EFDN and partner Awabot welcomed more than 20 clubs from across Europe for the first EFDN Florence Programme webinar. EFDN members Barça Foundation, Paris Saint-Germain Foundation and OL Fondation supported the launch of the programme by sharing their experiences with Awabot robots.

The EFDN Florence programme will provide ill children and young people with the opportunity to become the FAN of the Match from a distance. This initiative will see a first team player take a robot onto the pitch making it possible for a fan who cannot attend the match due to illness to join the line-up, watch the game from the sidelines and join the players after the game during their lap of honour.

Barça Foundation is using an Awabot robot in their programme for pedriatic well-being since 2017. Yolanda Antin, Coordinator of Partnerships said: “Positive experiences contribute to the well-being and qulaity of life of children during this hard period of life. 94% of the participants stated that they feel better and with more energy after the experience. 83% of the hospital staff indicated that the experiences help the beneficiaries to forget the treatment and illness.”

Amir Ghanoudi from PSG Foundation highlighted that a robot helps to connect fans from countries around the world and can be used in different settings. Salim Azouzi from our programme partner Awabot explained how the robot can be used in CSR programmes and EFDN members receive a discount.

Interested EFDN member clubs can contact EFDN staff and Awabot for more information. The EFDN Florence Programme will start as a pilot with the 18 EFDN member clubs in the Netherlands and will be disseminated around Europe.
