EFDN Highlights: August 2020

As 2020 comes to an end, EFDN invites you to look back on this year’s top activities, projects and news stories. Take a look at some highlights from August.

GREENFOOT Launch

In August, EFDN announced the start of the new Horizon 2020 project GREENFOOT in September. The project develops and implements a community-based funding scheme for the energy-efficient and environmentally friendly renovation of football infrastructures including stadiums, practice facilities, team headquarters, fitness centres and many more. GREENFOOT offers an innovative source of crowdfunding investment packages that allows clubs to partner with fans and community members to fight climate change and make a concrete difference in the club’s structure. Scoring for Health Webinar

On August 25th, nine partner organisations met virtually to share updates on various aspects of the Scoring for Health programme. The e-meeting was necessary to understand how numbers, dates and objectives may have shifted with the prominent COVID-19 restrictions limiting movement in schools and therefore progress of the programme. EFDN spoke on the design of educational materials like teachers’ manuals and workbooks, while partners and project implementors discussed monitoring and evaluation mechanisms such as data collection and analysis, as well as financial reporting and project communication.

EFDN Interview

In August, we published the last interview of the EFDN Interview series. Wessel Verhaar, Sport and Health teacher at Feyenoord Rotterdam, joined us to talk about how he had to re-think his work habits and activities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
