EFDN welcomes the first Finnish club to the network

We are pleased to welcome the first Finnish club, FC Espoo to the EDFN. Alongside their local feeder clubs, Leppävaara Pallo, FC Kasiysi, Kauklahti Pyrinti and Ponsi in Northern Espoo, FC Espoo has developed a strong social community presence, engaging with almost 3,600 registered players, making them one of the biggest communities in Finland. Their projects include week-long camps for 8-12-year-olds involving a number of underprivileged children where football boots and other equipment are provided, as well hosting several youth tournaments during the year. The club also works in co-operation with Espoo city council to support children’s physical well-being by providing training opportunities after-school with students lessons ending at 2pm every Wednesday to free up the evening for sports and club activities.

FC Espoo are looking forward to the guidance of the EFDN and the network in providing insight and knowledge to support them in developing new CSR programmes.   EFDN also shares their hope that other Finnish clubs will follow their lead in joining the EFDN and grow the social impact of football in Finland.
