‘Breaking Barriers Through Football’ in Breda

From the 26th of May until the 1st of June 2019, EFDN is organising a youth exchange in Breda, the Netherlands which will see programme participants from EFDN members Fundação Benfica (Portugal), Mifalot (Israel), Bayer 04 Leverkusen (Germany) hosted by NAC Breda. The youth exchange is a follow up from the successful ‘Breaking Barriers Through Football‘ Youth Exchange which took place in Tel Aviv last year and over six days will bring together 26 young people and 10 staff members from the four different countries together to promote the involvement of young people in their communities and discuss the invisible barriers in society and strategies to overcome them. The exchange is aimed at improving the confidence of the participants and encouraging them to take an active role in all aspects of society.

The exchange will see the participants take part in a variety of sports, games and educational activities on subjects such as digital awareness and diversity, disability, different and inclusion. NAC Breda will host some of the activities at their Rat Verlegh Stadium, while other activities will take place around the city, in a local school and at the “Katjes Kelder” holiday park where the participants will be staying.  The Youth Exchange will also include Cultural evenings over dinner, giving the participants the opportunity to share their home food and culture with the other participants and there will also be a visit to see the historic city of Breda.

The Youth Exchange is co-funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ Programme.
