European Football Congratulates Club Brugge for Winning the More than Football Award 2020

Last week, EFDN hosted the 14th EFDN Conference. Even in an online setting, this was the largest gathering of CSR experts in European football. 400 participants representing over 200 clubs, leagues, FAs and other football organisations tuned in to share experiences, insights and best practices in the field of football social responsibility.

The Conference also saw the crowning of the best CSR initiative in European football this year. The Club Brugge Foundation was awarded the More than Football Award 2020 powered by Musco Lighting for their “The Bear and his Scarf” project, a children’s bedtime story published by the club and its foundation to teach children and adults respect, values and principles, and what loving your club is really about. 5,000 physical copies have been printed and given away. More than 55,000 people have read the bedtime story online. The entire campaign reached more than 4.8 million people through social media.

Over the past few days, the European football community has shared its congratulations and overwhelming support for Club Brugge’s victory. Take a look at the gallery below to see how European football is recognising the most impactful social initiative of the year.
