Walking Football & Walking Sports

The Logo_European_Legends_RGB-01Walking Football and Walking Sport methodology reaches people of 50 years and older that until recently were out of reach for grassroots sport clubs and sport based community organisations. While this method is very successful in England and the Netherlands, the Walking Football and Walking Sport methodologies are almost unknown in other parts of Europe. Therefore, the project does not only aim at getting the direct participants active again but also want to inspire other clubs across Europe to implement the Community programme in their region.
Through the European Legends programme, EFDN and the partner clubs aim at increasing participation in sport, physical activity and voluntary activities. Additionally, awareness shall be raised for an healthier lifestyle.

European Legends Website- everything there is to know

As part of the European Legends Programme, the European Legends Website has been developed with the goal of contributing to broadening the reach of the development of Walking Football and Walking Sport programme.
For that reasons, the website provides in-depth information on the sport, which has recently been recognised as very beneficial due to positive health and social benefits for the target group.

In order to further enhance the development and implementation of the sport, the website presents the strategies, which the participating clubs apply. Additionally, on the European Legends Website, a wide range of multi-media resources can be found that show in a practical manner how Walking Football and Walking Sport is implemented across Europe.

Walking Football Practitioners Guide

On 20th of September at the Walking Football Conference in Arnhem, the Walking Football Practitioners Guide will be presented, which afterwards will be available for download on the website.

With the help of the Practitioners Guide, clubs that are still new to Walking Football will be provided with the basis for developing and implementing a comprehensive capacity development plan, thereby linking analysis with action.

Please take some minutes and browse through or European Walking Football Website.
