Everton in the Community turns 33

Everton’s fixture against Newcastle United at Goodison Park saw the Club’s official charity celebrate 33 years of delivering life-changing and life-saving provision to the people of Merseyside.

And while there were no fans present inside the ground to help us mark the occasion in the usual way, Evertonians can still play their part from home as we acknowledge another successful year for Everton in the Community.

The fixture saw the Club’s first virtual mascot of 2021, with young Premier League Primary Stars participant Annie having the chance to witness the experience of walking out at Goodison Park, all from the comfort of her own home, thanks to technology.

Ten-year-old Annie has had a tough year, settling into her new year group, while also winning her battle with cancer. She has been an inspiration to everyone at Everton in the Community and has remained positive throughout a difficult time.

Ahead of kick-off, Carlo Ancelotti’s players warmed up in specially designed t-shirts, celebrating the work of Everton in the Community since 1988 and launching the charity’s new regular giving service, ‘Together, We Can’.

‘Together, We Can’ provides supporters with the opportunity to contribute monthly to Everton in the Community, with the option to choose which arm of the charity their donation will go to, and gives fans the chance to be a part of the future of EitC.

The services of Everton in the Community are arguably needed now more than ever, most notably those provided through its Blue Family campaign, which has so far supported more than 27,750 families in need across Liverpool during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

You can sign up to be a part of ‘Together, We Can’ at evertonfc.com/together and all those who pledge their support to the charity’s new regular giving campaign will receive:

– A personalised thank you commemorative pack containing information on the programme you choose to support
– Regular communication throughout the year
– Christmas and birthday cards
– Pin badge and car sticker
– Exclusive access to downloadable charity branded wallpapers and exclusive player content
