Fair Play Award goes to Ferencvaros

The Hungarian Olympic Committee recognised Ferencváros’ efforts after 2013 again and the club received the Fair Play Award for the Fradi School Program.

The Hungarian Olympic Committee, led by Kamuti Jenő who recently became the Athlete of the Nation, have decided to award Fradi with the Fair Play Award in the category of promoting Fair Play. One of the pillars for teaching the spirit of fair play to the children is the Fradi School Program. So far more than 100 schools and 31.000 children were reached. The Award-ceremony will be held in September.

FTC have handled the fight against racism and teaching fair play to the youth with special dedication. As the first Hungarian club, in 2012 FTC prepared its first campaign clip. Then, each year another campaign video was created. This initiative was recognized by the Hungarian Olympic Committee and in March 2013 the club received a Fair Play Award. The award was handed over to President Gábor Kubatov and our former player Somalia.

“Ever since Gábor Kubatov became president he sees the fight against racism and teaching the youth for fair play as his mission – said Zoltán Nyíri, COO of FTC. “FTC is an active participant in the youth development conferences and organize fair play lectures to the kids each year. Ferencvárosi Torna Club are proud of the award and continue supporting the cause of Fair Play, the Fradi School Program and the fight for the elimination of discrimination.”

Through the Fradi School Program the youth receive advice from the credible former chapions of Fradi. Besides, the participants can learn about the rich history of Ferencváros while enjoying an interactive and entertaining program both within and outside the borders of Hungary.

The Fradi School Programme

In 2015, Ferencváros started a brand new project. For the 2015/16 school year, the club arranged many visits to various schools all around the country. This project is called Fradi School Program.
The visits start with an hour-long interactive program. It includes podium interviews with sports stars of Ferencváros, where the students also have the opportunity to ask questions. The Fradi-anthem and a short video about the club’s Olympic champions are presented. Students quizzed from the present and past of Ferencváros: the good answers are worth Fradi branded gifts.

Our most liked present is the match ticket! We provide all the students an opportunity to visit a home game with either parent for free. After the set program, the children go wild for autographs and joint photos. Many of the latter are instantly uploaded on various social media sites, creating a clear and hopefully lasting connection between the children and Ferencváros. Official photos are also made: the students can look for themselves in the photo galleries, articles and videos of the fradi.hu website, the club’s official Facebook-page and Youtube-channel, and the Fradi TV; thus, these are also promoted among the children.

FTC invests into the youth to gain even more supporters for the future. Our other goal is to present the children a healthy and active lifestyle and encourage them to follow it. The Fradi School Project-group always includes two or three successful athletes from Ferencváros. The motto is: “Come, do sports, be part of the Fradi family!”
