FCM Samfund receives huge donation

On Wednesday, 16th January 2020, people at the MCH Arena were with smiles all-round. Not only due to a win in the 3F Superliga, but because Kurt H. Jørgensen and Hans Kurt Larsen from the TrygFoundation stopped by to present FCM Samfund with a big check of 3 million DKK which is around 400,000 Euros. Alongside this donation, TrygFoundation are going to help establish an ambitious project aimed at the Region’s youth.

“This donation is incredible, and we are honoured, that the project has been considered and deemed a winner by a well known and recognised Fond. The project in question is ’Together in the field’,” says Berit Schultz Thynebjerg, Project Coordinator at FCM Samfund. She was joined by Marketing and Support Director, Preben Rokkjær and their colleague Michael Koch. The trio was thrilled that, with this money, they’ll be able to continue contributing to making a difference in the Region, they all love.

“In FC Midtjylland, we have a knowledge and an expertise when it comes to encouraging and lifting people, whether it is at the talent school, the academy or on the field and we are more than happy to be a part of it, whether the dream is to play for the national soccer team or, as in this case, help young people realising a dream of getting a job or an education. We are certain, that there is a synergy and ways to transfer what we know now to help both individuals and companies in the Region. The project will be rolled out in in partnerships with schools and companies, as well as Council,” says Preben Rokkjær after receiving the check. Preben Rokkjær continues: “The project ’Together in the field’ is targeted at people between the age of 18 and 30 who for some reason haven’t been able to complete an education or land a job. The programme will have a focus on social aspects and empowering these young men and women. We are hoping to reach and help 300 people over the next three years with this money and the on-going support from our loyal partners, ALPI, DK Company, Rationel Windows and Vestjylland Insurance.”

FCM SAMFUND’S PROGRAM PLANS:

“It is a real honour for the TrygFoundation to present this donation to a very ambitious and interesting project. FCM Samfund will see through this project, working towards some of the Foundations own strategic plans, such as creating a space for everyone where everyone can feel included and as a part of something bigger. This particular project is focused on young people thriving and growing both professional and personal through physical activities and mental health, so we are excited to follow the process closely,” says Hans Kurt Larsen.

The first part of the programme will focus on the physical activity and the team spirit through for example ‘Football Fitness’, but also mentoring and personal guidance. The second part is the more practical one, where participants will go through internships, basic jobs and tasks on and off the field and it will all run concurrently with the continued focus on mentoring, education, personal development and fitness. Short-term the goal is to create stronger and more focused individuals who are capable of taking responsibility for themselves and tasks and long term, the hope is to see a decreased amount of young people uneducated and unemployed.

“Football is an important part of our culture and who we are. Football is an integral part of our community and we have a dream, that FCM Samfund will roll out this program and align it with one of our goals, ‘social responsibility’” says Kurt H. Jørgensen, who calls the project concrete and relevant. “Social responsibility has always been and continues to be a big priority for FCM Samfund and FC Midtjylland and it’s all about giving back to the region who supports us and everything we do all year long. The whole idea of FCM Samfund is to make a difference for people who are fighting personal battles and with this great donation from the TrygFoundation, this will be possible to continue working towards. We are so excited”, says Preben Rokkjær.
