Feyenoord OldStars as counselors at Parents-Children Tournament

Last Wednesday, more than two hundred students from eighteen different schools of Rotterdam attended the Parents-Children Tournament organised by the Foundation of Feyenoord Rotterdam. During the tournament, the kids got the chance to play football with one or both parents, bringing the total number of participants at over four hundred.

During the tournament, the participants were accompanied by the players of Feyenoord OldStars, the Walking Football team of the Foundation. They played earlier in the day a tournament against OldStars FC Oss and JSV Nieuwegein.

During the Parents-Children Tournament, the 41 participating teams could win ten points per match by abiding the FairPlay rules, for example, by shaking hands after the game.

Besides football, there was an important emphasis on healthy eating. Thus, the Foundation provided, with the help of a dietitian, several workshops related to healthy eating and drinking.

The two teams with the most points received a prize. The number one (Catamaran) got ten tickets for Feyenoord homes games for the 2017-2018 season. The team finished in second place (the turns) received a signed shirt to school.
