Feyenoord Rotterdam provides emergency support for elementary school children
At the request of several elementary schools, Feyenoord provides support for one hundred elementary school students in the south of Rotterdam. This is necessary because the parents often have an essential profession and there is no other shelter option during the lockdown. Besides the educational programmes that the children follow at their school, the presence of Feyenoord’s social coaches also enables them to participate in a sports programme. Inside and outside, various (corona safe) activities are developed for the children, who get the much needed exercise every day.
The social coaches of Feyenoord responded to the call of the schools. Feyenoord normally also runs social projects at schools where students are stimulated to exercise and live healthier lives. These projects, such as Feyenoord Schoolsport Plus and Club 1908, improve health and school performance. In doing so, Feyenoord tries to make a positive contribution to the future of Rotterdam on a daily basis.
