Football Aid Raises £7,000 For EitC

Everton in the Community partnered with Football Aid in the summer to raise £7,000 for the Club’s official charity by giving Blues fans the chance to play at Goodison Park.

Founded in 2000, the concept of Football Aid – passion for football, compassion for others – is to allow fans, who had previously only been able to dream about playing at their favourite grounds, the chance to grace world-famous stadiums. Evertonians got the chance to experience the thrill of matchday by pulling on the famous royal blue shirt, walking down the tunnel to the sound of the crowd and play an adrenaline-fuelled 90 minutes on the hallowed Goodison Park turf.

Football Aid raised a total of £7,000 through this year’s play on pitch event and will be hoping to raise even more for EitC when the season draws to a close. Since Football Aid’s debut season in 2001, more than 700 games involving more than 18,000 players have taken place on a UK club, European and national level.

Through parent charity, Field of Dreams’ multi-beneficiary grant award scheme, the funds raised from the Football Aid events at Goodison Park are distributed to support the projects and facilities delivered by the fantastic work of Everton in the Community. Everton is a founding member of Football Aid and has been an ever-present throughout its history. As such, this partnership is one both EitC and Football Aid are extremely proud of and take great honour in.
