FREE MEDICAL VISITS FOR THE KIDS AT INTER CAMPUS PARAGUAY

ASUNCIÓN – More than 150 children who live in Asunción, Cateura, were recently visited by a group of clinicians at Sanatorio Italiano as part of a project put on by Inter Campus Paraguay. This was also thanks to the help of Paraguay’s Italian Ambassador, Gabriele Annis.

During a morning of sport and solidarity, the children from few neighborhoods in Asuncion received both medical certificates and official Inter shirts from Ambassador Annis and Director of the Italian Mutual Aid Committee, Lia Bonifazi.

Former player Julio Gonzalez Ferreira was also present, who is a coordinator for Inter Campus Paraguay. He said: “Thanks to Ambassador Gabriele Annis, who put us in contact with the clinicians, we managed to complete full check-ups as part of a historic day for these kids.”

The Ambassador explained the initiative, which took place thanks to the collaboration between the Italian Embassy and Inter Campus. “These kids needed medical attention so that the local coaches and Inter Campus could work effectively with a diagnosis for everyone taking part. This is what we provided thanks to the collaboration between Sanatorio Italiano and Club Olimpia. The latter’s president, Marco Trovato, has Italian roots and allowed the children to take a tour of the club while they waited their turn to be seen.”

As the mother of one of the children, Lillian was delighted with the initiative as it allowed her oldest son, nine, to receive a medical assessment for the first time.

On Inter Campus behalf, they would like to thank the Italian Ambassador, the Italian Committee of Mutual Aid, all the clinicians and also Club Olimpia. This all wouldn’t have been possible without their support.
