Greener Morton FREE Eco Fun Day

Have you heard about the Greener Morton FREE Eco Fun Day?

On Sunday 13th March at 12 noon we’ll be opening the gates at Cappielow Park with the help of some VIPs.  Our Eco Fun Day is to celebrate the Greener Morton project but also to help raise awareness of climate change.  If we make small changes by recycling more, recycling correctly, up-cycling, walking instead of taking the car etc then we can become greener together for our children and our grandchildren.  Then their generations will start seeing the benefits of the changes that we can make today.

So come along on Sunday 13th March 12 – 2pm and enjoy all the FREE activities and advice.  If you also have any old kit or boots then please bring them along and donate to our Kit & Boot Recycling Room which will be open on the day.  You will also have a chance to take any of the items on display from our Kit & Boot Recycling Room for FREE.

What else is going on on the day?  If you keep a watch onFacebook.com.MortonCommunity and Twitter @mortoncommunity as we are having a count down to the event by featuring something/someone different everyday.  You can also join the Greener Morton Eco Fun Day event to find out more on Facebook.

Remember it’s all free, the only thing that we will ask for is donations for the Coffee/Teas which are being run by volunteers from The Underheugh Ark and our raffle with the proceeds being donated to the Ark so they can continue the fantastic work that they do rescuing animals.  Besides that if you wish a photo with the Owl Magic team then they charge but again these all go to protecting the owls at their charity too.

Continuing the recycling theme, if you have any synthetic duvets and blankets or dog beds then please bring them along to donate to the Ark.  They must be clean though.  Donations can also be made to the Inverclyde Foodbank and theInverclyde Back to School Bank on the day.

Most of our activities are indoors therefore the weather isn’t an issue, so there’s no excuse not to wander down to Cappielow a week on Sunday and join in all the fun.
