Guest at the VELTINS Arena: Special day at Schalke

Some people were again able to spend an unforgettable day at Schalke on Saturday (27.8.) as part of the Herzenswünsche project. Among the guests was a group from the LAVIA family bereavement support group. The organisation from Gelsenkirchen accompanies children and young people as well as families affected by serious illness and death.

On match day, the guests now forgot their worries for a few hours and experienced the S04 home match with an exclusive supporting programme. The exciting day at Schalke already started two hours before kick-off. Right at the start, the group was able to get right up to the holy turf – a visit to the chapel in the VELTINS Arena was also on the agenda. In addition, they experienced the arrival of the teams in the catacombs before the match at close quarters, before they then watched the match together from the stands. FC Schalke 04 was able to give the guests, who brought along their best friend or close relatives as companions, a carefree day thanks to the Schalke hilft! project.

The club’s own foundation also welcomed the Lennartz family from Krefeld and their friends to the VELTINS Arena. After the painful loss of her husband, wife Sigrid had collected donations during the funeral of her husband, all of which went to Schalke hilft! Supporting social projects in Gelsenkirchen is a matter close to the family’s heart. To thank them for their generous support, Schalke hilft! now invited the royal blue group to the home match against Union Berlin.

Marius Bülter surprises eleven-year-old Philipp

FC Schalke 04 also had the pleasure of welcoming another special guest to the VELTINS Arena. Eleven-year-old Philipp from the Black Forest had an unpleasant experience at an S04 match almost exactly a year ago. After the victory in the first round of the cup at FC 08 Villingen, an unknown person stole the boy’s shirt, which striker Marius Bülter had thrown to him after the game. The club reacted immediately and contacted the boy.

Now the promise of a visit to the VELTINS Arena could be kept. The big S04 fan was able to spend an unforgettable day at Schalke together with his family. In the process, he was given exclusive insights into the stadium premises surrounding the Königsblauen’s home match day. After the final whistle, the S04 players took time to immortalise themselves with their signatures on Phillip’s jersey. Marius Bülter also stopped by – and presented the boy with a new jersey. A photo was also taken together as a memento of this special day. Philipp and his family returned home on Sunday. The S04 can now count on an even bigger supporter from the Black Forest.
