The Gym Group raises over £6000 to support Saints Foundation

Saints Foundation have been delighted to benefit from the support of local fitness providers The Gym Group, who have provided assistance to a number of the charities’ projects over the last year. In addition to this ongoing project support Saints Foundation recently received a generous donation from the Gym Group of £6,233.00, to support our mission to fulfil the potential and change lives of individuals across our community.

Matt Baker, The Gym Group’s Roaming General Manager, said “At The Gym Group we are always looking to support our local communities wherever we can. We are delighted that we have raised over £6,000 for Saints Foundation through local fundraising events and generous donations from our gym members. Together we can really make a difference in our communities and we very much look forward to seeing the donations being put into action with future projects to help support the young and vulnerable adults in the local vicinity.”

The Gym Group also provides Saints Foundation with access to both their venues, located in the centre and east of the city. Participants from our Saints Fans in Training (SFIT) programme, as well as students from our Education programme, have benefited from the use of the specialist equipment. Saints Foundation are excited about furthering the partnership and plans are underway for young people, from the Saints Connect project to attend the Gym, to help them prepare for their challenge of completing the Southampton 10K run in April 2018.

Sam Fulling, Saints Foundation Manager, commented “We are extremely grateful for the donation and support that the Gym Group provides.  The charity are continually seeking opportunities to embellish our provision and this a great example of how a local provider of health can enhance the experience that our participants have, in order to help them fulfil their potential.”
