New Premier League Works cohort off to a flyer

With just under a month of the latest Premier League Works programme underway, our latest cohort already have some valuable new skills under their belts.

The Premier League Works programme offers young adults, who are not in education, training or employment, the opportunity to take part in an 12-week ‘back-to- work’ programme based at St Mary’s.

The programmes main focuses are on developing employability, communication and teamwork skills, but it also provides opportunities to undertake sports-based and employability qualifications.

The current cohorts first outing was to David Lloyd Clubs, with the aim of introducing them to the wide variety of jobs that are on offer in the leisure industry. This was followed by beginning their first qualification, a Level 1 Money Management delivered by MyBnk.

The programme’s aims are to improve confidence, motivation and self-esteem, in order to help overcome any potential barriers to employment, and we aim to have each of our Premier League Works participants engaged in work experience or employment by the end of the 12-week programme.

For more information about getting into employment, please email Dave Warnes at dwarnes@saintsfc.co.uk.
