PAOK and Kaizen Gaming donate technological equipment to the “Melissa” orphanage

The 27 girls living at the “Melissa” Orphanage in Panorama, Thessaloniki received a special visit from PAOK, as part of the club’s corporate social responsibility programme PAOK Action, in collaboration with Kaizen Gaming, the largest GameTech company in Greece.

Andrija Zivkovic and Zivko Zivkovicalong with representatives of the Kaizen Gaming family, visited the girls staying at the “Melissa” orphanage, bringing smiles and gifts with them. Adhering to the health and safety protocals for COVID-19, the players and the Kaizen Gaming staff chatted with the residents and posed for photographs, while also handing out gifts.

The aspect of distance learning that has become so important to the children’s lives in the last nine months has drastically changed the educational process, and so Kaizen Gaming and PAOK FC decided to offer technological equipment to the children of the orphanage this year, in order to make it easier for them to attend their classes. These gifts were received with great enthusiasm by the girls.

The “Melissa” Orphanage opened its doors in 1921, with the aim of treating orphan boys and girls from the Caucasus. In 1940, the boys were transferred to another facility and since then the institution has hosted girls only. The shelter is home to girls who have been neglected and/or psychologically and physically abused. “Melissa” stands with children at risk, and their philosophy is based on modern pedagogical and psychosocial perceptions.

In the context of their sponsorship that was extended for another year, PAOK and Kaizen Gaming continue to collaborate in joint actions that offer joy and hope. The strategic commitment of the cooperation is to listen to the needs of people in need, and the local community. With this action, PAOK FC, through its humanitarian arm PAOK Action, kicks off the start of its support for the “Melissa” orphanage, as there are many needs to be met at the institution.

Mr. Panos Konstantopoulos, the CMO of Kaizen Gaming, talked about a “solidarity offensive” by Kaizen Gaming and PAOK FC: “From the first moment of our cooperation with PAOK FC, we have pledged to work beyond the stadiums aiming at actions that touch the whole society. This is what we have been doing all these years of our cooperation, and this is what we have done this year as well, offering smiles and gifts to the children of the “Melissa” orphanage. These children are undoubtedly the heroes of everyday life. Commitment, contribution and responsibility are the elements which have made Kaizen Gaming the company that it is today, and it’s those elements that define all of our next steps.”
