PAOK continue to support Children’s Oncology Ward

As part of the PAOK Action programme, two players from PAOK FC‘s first team, André Vieirinha and Diego Biseswar, represented the Club last Monday at the annual event of handing over the €64,000 cheque to fund the Children’s Oncology Ward at AHEPA Hospital. Over the six years that major shareholder Ivan Savvidis has been at the Club, PAOK has continued to support the Child Oncology Ward of AHEPA through the PAOK Action programme, contributing to the purchase of medical equipment, the payroll of 14 doctors working in the Ward (past and present) and caring for hundreds of children hospitalized at AHEPA. The two PAOK players offered presents to the brave children battling for their lives and were welcomed by Dr Andreas Giannopoulos, associate professor of Aristotelio University of Thessaloniki and Director of the 2nd Child-Oncology Ward of AHEPA Hospital. Dr Giannopoulos underlined that the clinic is operating thanks to PAOK FC and defined the players as “family”.

The excitement and pride of the two players offered as they gave out gifts, smiles and joy to the little patients and their families, was evident all night as can be seen with the video PAOK TV made from the event, below
