PAOK’s Under-19 team unites with Special Olympics athletes

Members of PAOK’s Under-19 squad took part in a fun game of Ten-pin bowling with Special Olympics Hellas athletes as part of the UEFA Youth League’s Solidarity Project and to mark the International Day of Disabled Persons.

On the afternoon of December 3, 2019, under-19 youngsters got together with several athletes from the Special Olympics Hellas team at Ten Pin Bowling in Kalamaria.

December 3 is also International Day of Disabled Persons, a global event that has been embraced and celebrated worldwide by the United Nations since 1992. It reminds the general public about the need for a greater understanding of disability, and to mobilise ourselves to support the rights of dignity and well-being of persons with disabilities. PAOK, through PAOK Action, has been a supporter of such fights for equal opportunities in all areas of life for a long time.

UEFA’s Solidarity Project is a training programme set up by the federation which encourages youth teams to adopt a solidarity plan. And so PAOK not only organised the bowling excursion but also donated 500 euros to the Special Olympics athletes.
