Portuguese Football Federation FPF helps the homeless during winter

With the cold spell coming to Portugal, the Portuguese Football Federation donated dozens of thermal jackets, so that teams from Oeiras City Council can distribute them to the homeless in the municipality.

The delivery of clothing, usually used by players and the national teams’ technical team when traveling to colder countries, was carried out this Friday by a team from IDEQ, which works in partnership with the Oeiras City Council. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the FPF considers it as its obligation to launch several initiatives to support the general population, in full compliance with its social responsibilities.

Facing the coming negative temperatures and the warnings issued by Civil Protection, which advises the use of various layers of clothing to combat hypothermia, the FPF did not want to forget a group in the community as vulnerable as the homeless.
