Randers FC receives award for CSR projects

Randers FC received an award from the Randers municipality for its social engagement. Especially, the job programme of the Danish club impressed the authorities.
The CSR prize is an appreciation for the club, which is currently having 19 employees who were not in regular employment before. Seven are employed within the flex-job scheme, four are in practice, one works on light jobs, while another seven are officially employed by Randers FC.
“All 19 employees make a great effort for the club in our events and conference department, in our kitchen and with all possible day-to-day work tasks around our offices and at the stadium. They are employed on their own terms, but we do not make any difference between the 19 and the regular employees. They have equal tasks and responsibilities and they enjoy the same privileges that all the permanent employees enjoy”, said Randers FC CEO Henrik Jørgensen.

Employee project is only one part of the CSR-concept

The programme that aims to bring people into or back to the labour market is not the only CSR-initiative that the club has initiated. Randers FC has supported the bicycle project called “Jobtour” in 2016 and 2017 and a holiday camp in 2017 with 1,400 socially disadvantaged children from all over the country. Furthermore, it started a job project in Nordby and established the Randers FC Fund, which supports socially and economically disadvantaged families with contingent support, purchase of football equipment and many more. Lastly, the club initiated a programme to help veterans who return from missions at the Balkans or the Middle East. Not only the municipality but also the Danish government recognised the efforts of Randers FC and honoured them with a visit of the Minister of Defence.

CEO Henrik Jørgensen is very happy about the big support: “Of course, my thanks go to the municipality’s appreciation of our CSR efforts. But I would also like to thank the municipality in general for a fantastic cooperation through our partnership agreement and the close cooperation with the municipalities and the Randers Jobcenter. And not to forget a big thanks to the 19 employees, who help the club within the amount of time that has been agreed for each one individually. And if that’s not enough, many of them also work as volunteers in their free time. We are very honoured to have them.”
