Shakhtar Social published their report covering all activities during the 2018/19 season (from July 1st, 2018 through June 30th, 2019). The annual report is available on our Online Learning Platform.

Shakhtar Social is a foundation established by FC Shakhtar with a purpose to implement the club’s social responsibility policy. The foundation’s major activities are centred around health, education, gender equality, social inclusion and charitable work.

In the Annual Report (2018/2019), Shakhtar Social highlights its involvement in the #Morethanfootball Action Weeks. The campaign which enables the European football community to tell fans about their CSR programmes, supported by the European Football for Development Network (EFDN), the UEFA Foundation for Children and the European Club Association (ECA).

Shakhtar Social and the club actively promoted its “Come On, Let’s Play!” programme during the 2019 #Morethanfootball Action Weeks, with 160 kids from 8 different teams taking part equipped with football kits and t-shirts with the Morethanfootball logo. To increase the visibility of the positive impact of European football, the EFDN decided to introduce the More than Football Award. The goal of the More than Football Award is to honour the best social initiatives in Europe delivered by a European club, league or FA.  Shakhtar Social Foundation won the first More than Football Award at the 13th EFDN Conference in Barcelona, for its “Come On, Let’s Play!” programme. The “Come On, Let’s Play!” programme has been promoting football, social inclusion and values throughout Ukraine since it was launched, back in 2013. The aim of the winning project is to improve the social inclusion of children living close to the frontline, refugees and socially disadvantaged children. In total, 240 children disabilities participate in the football and educational sessions in 6 of the 28 different locations.

Shakhtar Social is also part of the EFDN’s Scoring for Health programme, in partnership with the UEFA Foundation for children. Scoring for Health encourages children from the ages of 7 to 13, and their parents, to adopt a healthy lifestyle and make them aware of the value of eating healthily and being active.
