Remembering Athletic Club Foundation

On the 26th of March, a dozen people with neurodegenerative diseases from the Conde Aresti Residence in Bilbao took part in a new edition of the Reminiscence Workshops organised by the FEAFV (Spanish Federation of Veteran Footballers’ Association), with the collaboration of the AEA (Athletic Club Ex-Footballers’ Association) and the Athletic Club Foundation.

The day of reminiscing included a guided tour of the Athletic Club Museum and a further tour of the San Mamés field. The old memories of the elderly emerge from the stimuli associated with their experiences with Athletic Club and serve as a stimulus to combat Alzheimer’s disease. The ex-footballers who have accompanied the elderly during the therapy have been José Ángel Iribar, president of AEA, Juan Mari Zorriqueta, president of FEAFV and together with them the ex-footballers Imanol Etxeberria, Pablo Otaolea, Tzibi Juaristi, Imanol Aguiar and Gontzal Suances, in their dual roles as ex-players and representatives of the Athletic Club Foundation.
