Shakhtar Donetsk opens special area for pupils

From now on, FC Shakhtar Donetsk provides a number of seats at every home game for the pupils of a school in Kharkiv. On September 23, the new branded block received the first fans at the match Shakhtar vs Chornomorets.

The Kharkiv football school ‘Master of the Ball’ is one of the new club partners. The coaches and young athletes regularly attend Shakhtar’s games at the OSK Metalist. From now on, they will support the team in the personalised Ball Master section designed for 530 seats. Also, the pupils of the school will lead the players onto the football pitch, act as ballboys and participate in various activities during the half-time break.

Talent Day partners

The ‘Master of the Ball football school’ is an innovative project in Ukraine that was founded in 2012 and aims to create European conditions to fulfil the children’s full potential. The senior school and its project – the ‘Futbik preschool development centre’ – are attended by over 3,400 children aged 1,5 to 16 years old.

The training process is organised in line with the Total Football Methodology from the Netherlands. This dynamic methodology of football coaching includes every technical, tactical, physical and emotional-cognitive aspect of the long-term strategy for the player and team development. The coaching staff consists of 45 specialists.

In partnership with the Master of the Ball football school, Shakhtar Social regularly organises Talent Day tournaments in different cities and towns of Ukraine. Thanks to this initiative, children have a unique opportunity to show their abilities and receive an invitation to the Shakhtar Academy trials. Both organisations organised a football festival in Kharkiv as part of the co-operation.
