SRtRC webinar speaker – Peter Gheysen from Club Brugge Foundation

For our ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ webinar on our football-based anti-discrimination and anti-racism programme, we have invited different experts from partnering professional and grassroot clubs. Our first speaker at the webinar will be Peter Gheysen who is the Head of Foundation at Club Brugge Foundation. Peter joined the organisation 12 years ago after having completed his degree in ‘Sport & Business Management’at the VIVES University of Applied Sciences in Belgium.

Since he joined the Club Brugge Foundation in 2009 he has been a massive asset to the club and its reputation. Over the years he has increased the working budget and the number of impactful community actions they deliver as well as made CSR a permanent part of the club. At the foundation itself he is responsible for all strategic planning as well as partnerships and coordination of a small team of employees and up to a 100 volunteers.

The Club Brugge Foundation is a partner of the EU-funded ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ (SRtRC) programme and delivers the #DiversityWins educational programme in schools. Together with 13 schools and 71 classes in total from west and east-flanders, Club Brugge Foundation have provided 6 classes spread over a few months on subjects such as racism, discrimination, religion, LGBTIQ+ etc. to 1200 students aged from 9-15 years old. ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ would provide the Foundation with personally designed workbooks and teacher’s manuals. The newest edition of the SRtRC educational programmes will start in September 2021, at the moment 12 schools have already signed up.

Are you interested in using our free resources? You can download the workbooks and teacher’s manuals on our website and request your club branded version.
