That was RB Salzburg’s Fan Club Christmas Party for 2018

As the Austrian club’s fans have been looking forward to this event, the annual Fan Club Christmas Party was finally held on Wednesday, December 5th at the wonderful Legends Lounge of the Red Bull Arena.

Around 270 fans from over 30 fan clubs took the opportunity again this year to meet the first team, as well as the entire coaching and support staff while celebrating together in a festive atmosphere.

Along with the obligatory speeches, in which the players and coaches thanked the fans above all for their fantastic support over the past year and wished them a merry Christmas, the General Manager Stephan Reiter shared a few words. He stressed that the fans are a massive part of our club and that the club can be very proud to have celebrated such huge successes with them in recent years. After that, it was time to honour the Raging Bulls’ Player of the Year. As the fan club did not want to pick one player from the team’s incredibly strong collective, they instead named the whole team as Team of the Year.

The evening also saw a really special and moving moment, as one young supporter – who has been confined to a wheelchair due to illness, was made the beneficiary of an auction. Going under the hammer was the very first Wings for Life shirt worn by Marc Janko that a fan club member kindly made available. Along with an impressive winning bid, many more fans there decided to donate and altogether raise a sensational EUR 2,000–.

After the autograph session and the official opening of the buffet, the band Freebird provided a musical backdrop with plenty of singing along. In the meantime, the fans were able to prove their skills at a PASSSPIEL poker tournament qualifying event, and could also compete with the club’s eSportsman Andres Torres on Beat a Pro FIFA 19.

Finally, all the attendees were given plenty of time to take selfies with the individual players and chat with the head coach Marco Rose, as well as taking some unforgettable souvenir photos of the event.

After the end of the official party, a few players and fans remained to see the evening out and enjoy watching the mesmerising beauty of the place.
