Vaalerenga foundation’s 22nd Colourful Football tournament

Vaalerenga Footbal Foundation organised the “Colourful Football” tournament for the 22nd time. The tournament was the start of the Vålerenga against racism programme back in 1996.

The goal of Colourful Football is to gather children from different backgrounds for physical activities, social interaction, fun and entertainment. The focus of the programme is also to encourage children to get to know other children from other schools and make new friends, as well as increasing understanding and tolerance.

Focus on Fair play and good attitude

In the 22nd edition of the tournament, more than 1300 kids played together for fun, with a strong focus on the importance of fair play, unity, friendship and good attitude. There were different small games and activities organised for the kids who really had a great time participating in the event. Every year Vålerenga invites schools from all over Oslo to join in a day of football matches, fun activities and entertainment.

The children were supervised by teachers who received special training on Fair Play prior to the tournament. The training consisted of films about inclusion and about the Fair Play educational programmes from Vålerenga.

You can see the English version of the film here.
