Valerenga’s Jobbsjansen programme – a success!

New brilliant results for the Job Opportunity programme of Valerenga Fotball, Jobbsjansen, this year.,9 out of 14 are in the workplace!

Vebjørn Jacobsen, who is 23 years old, started Valerenga’s programme in the beginning of the year. Already since March, he has a job as an assistant, delivering activities at Hasle school.

After brilliant testimonials from both, students and teachers, Jacobsen now has been rewarded with a half-time employment, and there are indications that his contract might turn into a full-time employment in 2018.

Jobbsjansen’ was a really exciting programme, together with a group that worked jointly towards a common goal, while receiving a lot of support. The time at Vålerenga really past by too fast, but I am very happy about where I am now” says Vebjørn Jacobsen.

Marte Vik Edvardsen , Project Manager of the ‘Job Opportunity’ programme early saw the potential of Vebjørn, and encouraged him during the cycle of the programme.

He came to us in February and made a great contribution to the course. When our long-term partner, the Hasle school, called to asking whether we had candidates available, without doubt, we recommended Vebjorn”.

Knut Lampe leads the activities at the Hasle school and has been working closely together with the Vålerenga Foundation since 2009. During all the years, seven participants got a job in the school, and Knut knows what that he can have high expectation, when he receives candidates from the Job Opportunity programme.

We have had only good experiences with the Job Opportunity programme and the people” he says and adds:

We saw the early potential of Vebjørn, and after a short time working at the school he was offered a permanent 50% position.
