VfL Wolfsburg Joins Our Network

The European Football for Development Network is glad to annouce a new membership with VfL Wolfsburg.

VfL Wolfsburg is a German sports club based in Wolfsburg, Lower Saxony. The club grew out of a multi-sports club for Volkswagen workers in the city of Wolfsburg. It is best known for its football department, but other departments include badminton, handball and athletics. The men’s professional football team play in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system. Wolfsburg have won the Bundesliga once in their history, in the 2008–09 season, but also the DFB-Pokal in 2015 and the DFL-Supercup in 2015. Since 2002, the stadium is the Volkswagen Arena.

VfL Wolfsburg has been for quite some time now more than just a professional sport club. As a sports club with a long tradition, around 20,000 members and an even bigger fan club, VfL Wolfsburg is fully aware of its social responsibility. The club plays a large role in society. The image that the club portrays is constructed not only by goals and points, wins and losses, but by the actions of the club off the field. Football is more than just 90 minutes on the pitch. Commitment to our community is one of the features that characterizes today’s world. VfL Wolfsburg aim to live more consciously and consciously participate in society and its development. Activities in the social and environmental fields have therefore become increasingly important.

EFDN expresses his satisfaction to collaborate with the German club and is looking forward to be a partner.
