VFL Wolfsburg mascot goes on hospital tour

The goal is making children’s eyes beam: The “Wir für euch” (“We for you”) hospital tour by VfL Wolfsburg has become a nice green-white tradition in the pre-Christmas period over the past few years.

Mascot Wölfi and the players have always visited the children’s ward at the Wolfsburg hospital to give the little patients a Christmas change during Advent. With the Corona pandemic causing restrictions again this year, the Wolves were forced to cancel their originally planned activities. Last Thursday, however, there was a green-white surprise: Wölfi visited the children’s hospital and presented VfL scarves, biscuits and VfL chocolate Santas to the 90 or so children in front of the building. The biscuits were a special personal greeting from the VfL Wolfsburg players, who had baked them with their families for the kids in the run-up to Christmas.

“This is a really, really great campaign, especially now with Corona, the children are very limited, because they can no longer go out. That’s why this campaign is extremely important for the children’s psyche and recovery.”

Prof. Dr. med. Jacqueline Bauer, chief physician of the paediatric clinic at Klinikum Wolfsburg
