Victor Wanyama visits Tottenham’s Pre-Apprenticeship Scheme

Victor Wanyama, Tottenham Hotspur’s midfielder, dropped in on a Pre-Apprenticeship Scheme for young unemployed people in North London, delivered by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation and supported by Club partner StubHub.

The programme provides 16 to 24-year-olds from North London with the knowledge and experience needed to secure an apprenticeship or future work. Victor Wanyama joined a classroom based activity and witnessed first-hand how the participants are learning vital skills to progress their careers.

The initiative has been running for the last 12 months and during this time participants have visited StubHub’s offices and gained work experience at major events, including visiting Wembley stadium to see how StubHub organised the ticketing for last week’s Anthony Joshua vs Wladimir Klitschko fight.

Upon completion of the course, members continue to receive one-to-one mentoring from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation until a suitable apprenticeship, training scheme or employment opportunity is secured.

The Pre-Apprenticeship scheme is one of a number of employment programmes provided as part of the Club’s commitment to supporting local residents into work. Additionally the Club’s new stadium development will support more than 3,700 jobs once complete, with £293million pumped into the local economy each year.

StubHub, the Club’s  official ticketing resale partner, is part of the eBay group of companies and is the world’s largest ticket marketplace with partnerships across sports teams, leagues and venues in the US, UK, Germany and Canada.
