Young Patients Get Active at Groupama

On Tuesday, May 21, thirty children from the Hôpital Femme Mère Enfant (HFME) had a fun-filled day of sports at Olympique Lyonnais’ Groupama Stadium, thanks to the partnership initiated last fall with the OL Foundation.

The special day, organised by Léa Cuisinier, Coline Courtois, Morgane Espitalier and Roxane Le Pallac, the Adapted Physical Activity specialists and trainees at the HFME (in the framework of a master 2 IGAPAS certification) – gave the children the opportunity to engage in a variety of physical activities.

The children, each accompanied by one of their parents, were welcomed at Groupama Stadium at 9:00 and started off with a tour of the H Experience lounge, followed by a visit to the OL Museum.

After the lunch break, the children went to the men’s professional team’s training ground for a giant game of the goose, with quizzes and different sports challenges added to the activities. They were joined by teammates who included OL staff members: Abdel Redissi and Jérémy Jacquemot (physiotherapists), Antonin Da Fonseca (physical trainer), Corine Petit (former international player), and even got a surprise visit from Lyon first team defender Marcelo.

By the time the activities ended at 16:00, the children were full of gifts, courtesy of the OL Foundation, and, most importantly… smiles.
