Aston Villa Foundation – School Tournament

There are two different categories of Schools Competitions held (Mixed Under 11s and Girls Under 13s) by the Premier League each season.

Aston Villa run eight regional tournaments in the Mixed Under 11s competition (with 10 planned for the forthcoming season) throughout the city with the winners of each competition travelling to Villa Park for the Grand Finals in December.

The winner of the Grand Finals become our representative at the National Finals day, held at a Premier League Stadium at the end of the season (Anfield – 2013, The Emirates – 2012, The Reebok – 2011, The Madjeski – 2010, Ewood Park – 2009, Old Trafford – 2008). All 20 Premier League Clubs take part in the tournament.
Ninety-two primary schools throughout the city took part in the 2012/13 Mixed Under 11s Regional Tournaments – the highest number of participants from any Premier League club.

Twenty-eight schools took part in the Girls Under 13s 2012/13 Grand Finals, which produced our representatives at the national finals day held by the Premier League.

This was again the most number of schools competing in the regional tournament for any Premier League club.
