The “European Football for Development Network” (EFDN) is a not-for-profit organisation supporting more than 140 members of professional football clubs, leagues, and federations who are convinced of the social power of football and wish to cooperate at European level. The aim of the network is to promote the unifying power of football as a tool for social development in general and the exchange of knowledge and the possibility of funding for local participants of the member clubs in particular.

The following position is available from March 2022:

FUNDRAISING MANAGER (40 HOURS/1 FTE)
To support EFDN in its further development and growth by attracting and managing financial support for its projects, EFDN is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced fundraising manager (1 FTE).

We are looking for a candidate who is highly skilled in applying for this type of financial support from the European Union, philanthropic institutions (equity funds) and foundations, Government and Commercial partners, and Sponsorships or Events.

The Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing EFDN’s fundraising strategy to reach the widest possible audience through the right social projects at both Professional and Amateur Football Clubs.

Tasks/Responsibilities:
– Develop and implement a unified fundraising plan in cooperation with the CEO and report to the  Manager Operations. The Plan should also include the approach for raising more and/or new (also private, commercial) financial support and include short, medium, and long term goals;
– Forming ideas for external partnerships to submit joint applications for support on Sport as a Resource – including alignment with Marketing (making propositions) & Communications;
– Preparing applications for the European Union, philanthropic trusts/foundations, and potential business (partner/sponsor) propositions in collaboration with the CEO and reporting to the Manager Operations;
– Contact all stakeholders involved in EFDN fundraising;
– Managing internal and external stakeholders during the process of writing, submitting, enrolling, and managing the applications, ensuring that all requirements are followed;
– Maintaining good contacts with all persons/bodies to whom applications are submitted;
– Reporting on all (also potential) documentation regarding the fundraising activities – including the results.
Because you will be working with international colleagues at our office in Breda, as well as with various European organisations, knowledge of the English language is a must.

You are/have:

Knowledge/experience:
– Knowledge/experience (3-5 years) in fundraising applications, bid writing;
– Highly skilled in fundraising principles and practice;
– Pre: experience in managing or administering sponsorship programmes;
– Pre: knowledge of the world of Sport as a Resource / social power of sport.

Skills (Demonstrable):
– Communication skills to present ideas;
– Creating innovative ideas for new forms of financial support, based on data and market information;
– Organisation and project management skills (including time management, working under time  pressure);
– Teamwork skills.

Qualities:
– Essential: self-starting, self-shaping function;
– Essential: fluent in English, in word and writing (grammatical correct and spelling error-free);
– Essential: you are a motivated team player who meets deadlines, remains flexible, and can adapt to changing priorities in an ever-changing (project) environment;
– You are able to set the right priorities and manage your time efficiently;
– Pre: a passion for football.
