Benfica Legends love playing Walking Football
It was a very exiting morning at Estadio da Luz. Football players of 50+ came for the fitrst time in action during a Walking Football Tournament, organised by the Benfica Foundation. “We were happy to welcome a lot of participants”, said Jorge Miranda of the Benfica Foundation. “And all of them were very excited to be able to play football again. We also had some women who wanted to experience Walking Football. And they all had a good time. With the strong support of a team of ex-athletes we now encourage 50+ football players, men and women, to participate in this sport. Trainers and players will continue to promote active ageing. We thank EFDN for organising European Legends, the Pan-European Walking Football project.”
