Feyenoord Joins EFDN

The European Football for Development Network is delighted to welcome Feyenoord as a new EFDN club member.

Feyenoord Rotterdam is a Dutch professional football club based in Rotterdam, playing in the Eredivisie. Since 1937, Feyenoord’s home ground has been Stadion Feijenoord, named De Kuip.

The club is one of the most successful in the Netherlands, winning 14 Eredivisie titles, 12 KNVB Cups and two Johan Cruyff Shields, having won in the international stage one European Cup, two UEFA Cups and one Intercontinental Cup. The club have played continuously in the top tier of the Dutch football system since gaining promotion to Eerste Klasse, the Eredivisie’s forerunner competition, in 1921, more time than any other club in the country, which has dominated alongside Ajax and PSV Eindhoven. Feyenoord is known as a people’s club, with a huge national support.

What about Feyenoord’s CSR strategy?

Feyenoord is a club for young and old alike. For natives and immigrants. From highly educated to illiterate. Feyenoord is the club that does not discriminate. It is accessible for everyone.

An open club and an open stadium. With an eye for social issues and a focus on young people. With the role models and the brand’s power of communication as effective means. Its ambition is a healthy, sporty and responsible lifestyle, at the centre of the community. The social policy is an exponent of the club policy and vice versa. It is structurally embedded within all levels of the organisation; broad-based and anchored in the actions of employees at all levels.

Achieve real results. Not words but deeds. Perform through cooperation. Hand in Hand.

Focus on everyone, but especially on young people. Set your sights on the future; respect the past Rotterdam-Zuid as the starting point of it all. A world club with a Rotterdam mentality.
