N.E.C. BuurtBattle teams carry out 52 community contributions within Nijmegen
In the N.E.C. Buur
tBattle program, 22 teams have participated. These teams have done 52 Area’s contributions. At the N.E.C. BuurtBattle, futsal competition between Nijmegen districts, the district teams of young people can score points in different ways. By playing football, but also through fair play and by doing so-called Area’s contributions. Jobs that they do for their district.
The contributions that have been made, diverse from helping elder people to collect money for charity. There is lots of help out in various community centers and there is very much cooking to distribute to the elderly.
Joep Goessens, coordinator of N.E.C. Doelbewuyst: “We see more and more that the Area’s contributions are really seen as a profitable way to score points, so the teams get more fanatic in collecting these contributions. In the last eight seasons there have never been so much contributions as this year. A fact we are really proud of. You will also see that not the best teams are at the top of the ranking, but the most socially conscious. We are pleased that we can contribute in this way to social cohesion in the districts in Nijmegen. ”
Respect, discipline and cooperation
N.E.C. BuurtBattle is a partnership between Street Coaches Nijmegen, Futsal Chabbab, Tandem and N.E.C. Doelbewust. These four parties are active in the Nijmegen neighbourhoods and represent football, good cooperation and mutual respect. In addition, values and sport participation important aspects of the project.
